If your child ingests poison or chemicals, you should call Poison Control at (800) 292-6678 or 911 first. They will instruct you how to seek immediate medical attention.

Our after hours clinic is for established patients ONLY with acute (new) illness or minor emergency care. We do not see new patients after hours. We do not typically provide walk-in 'well" or routine services after normal hours UNLESS prior arrangements have been made (please call to schedule).

Typically, we'll see patients after-hours on a walk-in basis:

Monday through Friday: between 5:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. - doors lock at 8:00 p.m.***
Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - doors lock at 5:00 p.m. *** (also subject to lunch break)
Sunday: 12:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - doors lock at 5:00 p.m. (Holidays 12 p.m. until)***

***These hours may vary due to emergencies, patient volumes, inclement weather and/or other unforeseen circumstances.

Physician availability in our after hours clinic is limited, and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.

We also reserve the right to see patients in the order we believe most accurately reflects the acuity involved.

Undiagnosed conditions that have lasted two weeks or more should be appointed between 9:00 and 4:00 p.m. so that your child has better access to any specialists or testing services. These conditions include: headaches, abdominal pain, behavioral problems, etc.

Prescription refills should be phoned in between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., as we do not provide prescription refills after hours. (In order to provide you with uninterrupted service, 48 - hour notice is requested on all prescription refills.)

On occasions when it is necessary to close our after hours clinic earlier than normal, those patients remaining in clinic will be given the option to schedule an appointment for the next morning or go to the Emergency Room at East Alabama Medical Center.

To minimize wait times and any other inconvenience you may incur, we suggest scheduling an appointment during our normal business hours.
