ALERT – March 5, 2020
At this time, there are no confirmed or suspected cases of COVID 19 in our immediate area.
However, out of an abundance of caution, we are asking the following questions to all of our patients when they call for an appointment:
- HAVE YOU OR YOUR CHILD TRAVELED OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES IN THE LAST 14 DAYS?
- HAVE YOU OR YOUR CHILD BEEN EXPOSED TO ANYONE WITH COVID-19?
If No to both questions, we will schedule as per our normal protocols.
If you answer yes to either question:
We will ask if your child has any of these symptoms:
Fever?
Cough?
Shortness of breath?
Congestion?
If you have a potential exposure, and no known symptoms, we will have a nurse call you back to determine the appropriate course of action.
If symptoms are present, we will instruct you to remain quarantined until we determine the appropriate course of action in conjunction with current recommendations and the Alabama Department of Public Health (and the CDC where appropriate).
ALSO, with respect to walk-ins and our night and weekend hours, we are asking that you call before you come so that we may assess your status before you arrive in an effort to limit potential exposure to all of our patients and their families.
